Hi ,
The mounts are basically made of light ply covered with high temp fuel tubing (glow fuel tubing).  Lightweight, heat proof and you can make it any size to fit your needs.  If you look closely you can see a "pocket" in between the two pieces of ply that make up one of the mounts.  This pocket is held apart by pinneddowels.  The void space is used to attach the pipes to the tubes.

This is done simply by putting a nylon tie strap through the inside of another piece of fuel tubing (you'll need some lubricant to slide the tie though as friction wants to make it a bit more difficult.  I think I used Vaseline.) The nylon tie strap just gets fed under the dowels and you're done.

mark_vukmanovich_0237.jpg (32639 bytes) To mount it to the ceiling of the tunnel, I just epoxied in a hardwood stick (1/4 x 1/4 I believe) and I also pinned it with 1/8 dowels just for giggles.  I then ran another tie strap around the hardwood thru small slits cut in the tunnel ceiling and attached them again, just for giggles.  The triangle stock is over kill for sure but being my first canister job I didn't want to have them let loose on a snap or something.  You have plenty more experience than I do so use your judgment on how strong you need to go. One thing to note.  If you are not using flexible headers make sure the mount is the EXACT height and location so as not to put ANY stress on the headers.  Slight stress on the header in conjunction with vibration can crack the header pipes (Don't ask me how I know).

What I'd recommend is mount the motor, headers, cans, couplers, clamps etc, then measure what you need for the mount.  I thought I did this but apparently I was off somewhere.  It seems to work well and they never loosened up.  Believe it or not, I can actually pull the canister out of the front without having to cut
off the wire tie. Just a little Vaseline on the fuel tubing and they'll slide back in quite easily.

If you have any questions just shoot me an e-mail.

Best of luck......Mark Vukmanovich
